Terms of Use

What this site is, what it is not, what you agree to when you use it, and what we are responsible for.

These terms govern your use of BetJury. Using the site means accepting them. They are short because the obligations really are short, and specific because vague terms protect nobody.

What this site is

BetJury publishes independent casino reviews, an editorial safety audit called the TrustAudit Index, a community score built from player testimony called the JuryScore, and a public complaint docket called the Tribunal.

It is information, not advice. Nothing here is financial, legal or professional advice, and no score is a promise about what will happen to you at an operator.

You must be old enough. You may use this site only if you are of the legal gambling age where you live — 18 in most of the world, higher in some jurisdictions — and only where online gambling is legal for you.

Gambling loses money on average. Every game on every site we cover is designed with a house edge. Over any meaningful number of bets, the expected outcome of play is a loss. Nothing we publish changes that, and nothing we publish should be read as suggesting a way around it.

What our scores are, and are not

The TrustAudit Index is our editorial assessment, computed from evidence we have gathered — the licence and the register entry behind it, measured payout times, the terms as written, the complaint record. The weights and caps are published in full on the methodology page.

A score built partly on checks we have not finished is published as provisional and says so, because an unopened check can only ever subtract. Where too little of the file is complete for a number to mean anything, we publish no number at all.

The JuryScore is community testimony. It is what people say happened to them. We verify what we can and screen what we publish, but it is reported experience, not audited fact.

Neither score is a guarantee. An operator can be well licensed, promptly paying and highly rated here, and still dispute your withdrawal.

Testimony

You may publish testimony about an operator you have used. When you do, you agree that:

  • It describes your own experience, honestly.
  • It contains no personal data about anyone else and nothing you are not free to publish.
  • It is not defamatory, abusive, or a marketing message for anyone.
  • We may publish, screen, decline or remove it, and we will say when we have removed something rather than doing it silently.

You keep ownership of what you write. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to publish it on this site and to quote it in material about the site.

Testimony that is paid for, solicited by an operator, or written by someone with an undisclosed interest is prohibited outright. It is also unlawful in the UK and the EU, and we will remove it and close the account.

The Tribunal

A case is an allegation by a player, published so that the operator can answer it in public. It is not a finding of fact by us, and we do not adjudicate.

Filing a case means confirming you contacted the operator first, describing the dispute factually, and accepting that the case — but not your identity or your private attachments — becomes public.

For a British account, use the operator's formal complaint procedure. You can take an unresolved dispute to its approved ADR provider after eight weeks, or earlier if the operator gives a final response or deadlock letter. ADR is free to the consumer; check the provider's scope and rules. BetJury cannot enforce payment, and court remedies are separate. UKGC guidance. A Tribunal submission is screened privately and may be declined. A 96-hour exchange applies only after acceptance and publication. A non-response finding requires a verified operator contact channel and evidence that the operator was reachable. Publication and recovery are not guaranteed; BetJury had no published real-operator cases at this review date.

The rules a case must satisfy are set out in the complaint guidelines.

How we are funded

We earn a commission when some visitors open an account with an operator through a link here. This is disclosed at the point of every such link, and it is disclosed again on the transparency page.

Commercial arrangements have no path into any score. Whether an operator pays us, and on what terms, is stored where the scoring code cannot read it. Paid placements are labelled Sponsored, sit outside the ranked order, and are never mixed into a score-ranked list. Figures describing our own coverage are counted from the database at render time and cannot be typed in by hand — including by us.

Your account

Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not scrape the site at scale, attempt to break it, impersonate anyone, or use it to distribute malware or spam.

We may suspend an account that breaches these terms. Where we do, we will tell the account holder why.

You can close your account at any time by writing to privacy@betjury.com from its address. Testimony and cases you have already published stay on the record with your name detached rather than being deleted — a register that can be edited out is not a register — and the privacy policy sets out exactly what that means.

Our content

The reviews, guides, glossary, scoring methodology and the arrangement of the register are ours. You are welcome to read them, quote them with attribution and link to them; you may not republish them wholesale, scrape them at scale, or pass them off as your own. The scores and the reasoning behind them are the work this site exists to do, and copying them is the one thing that would make doing it pointless.

Operator names, logos and trade marks belong to their owners and appear here to identify the operator being reviewed. Nothing on this site implies that any operator endorses it or is associated with it beyond a disclosed commercial link.

A link to an operator is not a recommendation to gamble, and we do not control what is on the other side of it. Terms change, offers are withdrawn, and an operator may restrict or refuse your account for reasons that have nothing to do with us. Read the operator's own terms before you deposit — the ones that bind you are theirs, not ours.

Accuracy, and what we do when we are wrong

We work from sources with a date attached and we publish our reasoning. Facts still change and mistakes still happen — a bonus is withdrawn, a licence lapses, a figure is computed wrongly.

If something here is factually wrong, tell us at corrections@betjury.com. We check it against the underlying records, correct it if we got it wrong, and say that we have.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that: the site is provided as it is, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for losses you incur gambling with an operator, for an operator's conduct, or for a decision you took on the strength of something published here. Your relationship when you deposit is with the operator, under their terms, and your recourse against them is the one their licence provides.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or the EEA, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are noted on the page and dated rather than made quietly. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the updated version.
