Editorial policy and corrections

This page says how BetJury decides what to publish, who is answerable for it, where the money comes from, and what happens when we get something wrong. It is written to be checked against the site, not admired.

Who writes, and who signs

Reviews and guides are produced by the BetJury desk and carry the name of the editor responsible for them, Dominic Field, whose record you can verify outside this site. A byline on BetJury makes one of three claims, and we do not move a page up that ladder until the thing it asserts has happened:

• Editor — the editor is responsible for the page; the words are the desk's.
• Reviewed and signed off — the editor has re-read the page on the date shown and stands behind it.
• By — the editor wrote it.

Nobody on the site, including the editor and the owner, can type a number over the scoring engine's output. What an editor can do is add evidence the engine reads, and every piece of evidence is listed on the review it affects.

What a score is made of

Three numbers, kept apart on purpose:

• The TrustAudit Index is our safety score. It opens at 10.0 and subtracts a published deduction for every documented finding — a licence that does not resolve on the regulator's register, a clause that lets the operator withhold a payout at its discretion, a complaint pattern reported by at least two independent public sources. Each deduction is itemised on the review with its points and its reason.
• The JuryScore is built from testimony written on this site by registered players, and from nothing else. When no player has written, it says so; it is never filled in from elsewhere. Testimony is published under the writer's own account, moderated against our guidelines before it appears, and can be edited or withdrawn by its author at any time.
• The BetJury Rank orders the register. It blends the two scores above with published bonus value, payout speed and freshness. Commercial terms are stored where the ranking code cannot read them, and a test in the build fails if a commercial field is ever named inside the scoring code.

Evidence before adjectives

A claim about a named company is published only with its source and the date it was checked. Licences are read from the regulator's own register and linked. Terms are read in full, not from the bonus summary. Payout-time research distinguishes published policies, outside reports and any documented first-hand tests. Where we could not verify something, the review says "not confirmed" rather than guessing, and a score resting on unfinished checks is marked provisional and can change as the evidence is reviewed.

We do not publish reviews of operators that do not exist, testimony from accounts that are not real people, or complaint cases that were not filed by a player. Demonstration data used to test the product is excluded from search and labelled on the page.

How we are paid

BetJury is funded by affiliate commission: when a reader opens an account through a link marked as such, the operator pays us. Every such link is labelled at the point of the click and carries a link to the operator's terms. Commission has no path into any score or into the order of the register. An operator can pay for a clearly labelled sponsored placement; it sits outside the ranked list and never borrows a position it did not earn. No operator can pay to change a review, remove a finding, or suppress a Tribunal case. Guilty operators get no link at any price.

Responsible gambling

Every page carries the 18+ mark and a route to free, confidential help. In Great Britain that is GamCare's National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133, and the national self-exclusion scheme; our responsible-gambling page lists the routes for other countries. We do not describe gambling as income, as risk-free, or as a way to recover a loss, and we do not frame any product as a way around self-exclusion.

Corrections

If something published here is wrong, write to corrections@betjury.com. We check the claim against the underlying record, correct the page if we got it wrong, and record the correction here rather than editing quietly. Operators have the same route, and a right of reply on every Tribunal case.

Corrections log

• 7 September 2026 — Every reference to BeGambleAware was replaced with GamCare's National Gambling Helpline. GambleAware ceased operating on 31 March 2026; signposting it was out of date.
• 7 September 2026 — 109 player testimonies were withdrawn from the 13 operator reviews. They had been imported from comments left on other platforms and attributed to accounts that were not registered by the people named. The JuryScore on those reviews now reads "not yet" until players write here; the rating markup that had been built on the withdrawn testimony was removed the same day.
• 7 September 2026 — Explanatory text that repeated identically across every review and game page was cut back to a single sentence with a link, and the eight shortest glossary entries were expanded with sourced material. No score changed as a result.
• 6 September 2026 — Four editor personas that did not correspond to real people were removed from the masthead and from every byline; their pages now return "gone". The byline was replaced with a real, named editor on 7 September.
