Cherry-linked, with an ownership record we cannot pin down

Yggdrasil was founded in 2013 and runs from St Julian's, Malta. Cherry AB took a majority stake in April 2013, and after Cherry itself was taken private by a Bridgepoint-led consortium in 2019 the holding structure has been reported inconsistently: trade press in 2024 still described Cherry as the owner, while a 2022 report said the studio had been separated from Cherry after the buyout. We therefore record the ownership as Cherry-linked with the exact holding entity unconfirmed, and will update this when a filing settles it.

Vikings Go Berzerk (2016) and Valley of the Gods (2017) are the titles on this register. Licences include Malta (MGA/B2B/230/2012) and Great Britain (account 44137).

What the catalogue looks like

Reading Yggdrasil by its own numbers

We hold two Yggdrasil titles on the register, which is too small a sample to describe a studio with. Read what follows as a note on those games rather than as a profile of the catalogue. A median across one title is a number rather than evidence, and we would rather say so than dress a single row up as an average. The gap is ours: it reflects how far our coverage has got, not the size of what this studio has released.

Across them the mechanics that recur are expanding grid (1), free spins (1), multipliers (1), rage meter (1) — the studio’s signature, and what shapes a session (why).

Published maximum wins here run from 5,333× to 8,500× the stake — a statement about variance rather than about generosity.

Filed figures across this register only (RTP).
