Where the judgement comes from
Dominic came to reviewing from the other side of the cashier. Before he wrote about casinos he built and ran them: product development and the launch of the first online betting platform at EDITEC, Africa's largest retail betting operator, from 2010; the Dafabet launch in Kenya in 2018; and, back in Manila from 2019, the set-up and management of retail and online sportsbooks and casinos for StarSports, RPM Gaming and LiveScore Group. The linked career profiles describe that operational background; they do not verify a particular BetJury review or personal account test.
He has been writing about the industry for longer than he ran it. His first paid pieces were Premier League match reports for an affiliate site in 2008, written around a day job in the trade; by his own count he has since published more than 750 slot reviews. In 2021 he left operations to write full time, and his work now appears on trade and consumer titles including CasinoBeats and iGamingWV The existing BetJury byline is described separately below.
He is British, studied at the University of Dundee — where he founded and chaired the student poker society that first took him into the industry — and is based in the Philippines. Away from the desk he follows horse racing and Sheffield United, with the mixed results the second of those implies.
