The studio rates this game differently

When the demo above loads, Pragmatic Play print low volatility on the loading screen. Our spec sheet says high volatility. Both are on this page, so it is worth saying plainly which to weigh.

The studio’s badge is not consistent with the studio’s own catalogue. Pragmatic Play mark Sweet Bonanza low on a game that pays up to 21,100× the stake, and Sugar Rush high on a 5,000× ceiling. A rating that calls the twenty-one-thousand game low and the five-thousand game high is not describing the distribution.

Maximum win is the part anyone can check, and it settles it: a game cannot pay thousands of times the stake unless the ordinary spin pays nothing, and that is what volatility measures. Our figure follows the ceiling21,100× here. Treat the loading screen as marketing and the ceiling as the fact.

The game

What Sweet Bonanza actually is

The same tumbling, pay-anywhere engine as Gates of Olympus in a sweet-shop skin: six reels, five rows, and clusters of eight or more identical symbols paying wherever they fall before tumbling away.

Free spins are bought or won with four scatters, and inside them the multiplier bombs — 2× to 100× — are added together and applied to the tumble sequence they land in. The base game is deliberately flat by comparison; almost all of the design's return sits inside that bonus round, which is precisely what makes the buy button so effective and so expensive. High volatility here means the ordinary session is a long walk to a feature that may not pay when it arrives.

In practice

What this spec means for a session

The 21,100× ceiling is the largest return a single stake is designed to be able to produce: on a £1 spin that is £21,100 (what a ceiling costs).

The mechanics this title actually ships, and what each one does to the spread of results:

  • Tumble clears winning symbols and drops new ones, so one stake can resolve several times.
  • Multipliers raise the ceiling of a win without raising how often one lands.
  • Free spins a run of spins at no further stake, usually under modified maths, where most of the return sits.
  • Scatter pays pays for symbol counts anywhere on the grid, so position stops mattering.
